Summer is here, and if you're looking for ways to keep the whole family entertained this July, you're in luck. The Columbia County corridor — Bloomsburg, Danville, and Berwick — is packed with events that don't require a long drive or a big budget. From fireworks to tanks to monster trucks, here's your go-to guide for family fun this month.

BLOOMSBURG

4th of July at Bloomsburg Town Park | July 4th

Kick off the holiday the right way. Bloomsburg Town Park hosts a classic Independence Day celebration with food trucks and local vendors lining Market Street starting at 4 p.m. Live entertainment takes the Bandshell stage before fireworks light up the sky at dusk over the corner of Railroad and Ft. McClure. Pack your lawn chairs, grab some food, and enjoy the show — it's small-town America at its best.

39th Annual 4-Wheel Jamboree Summer Nationals | July 10–12

This one is a bucket-list event for any family with kids who love big trucks — or honestly, any kid who's ever wanted to watch a monster truck crush things. The Bloomsburg Fairgrounds transforms into the country's ultimate off-road playground for three days, drawing more than 2,000 vehicles from across the nation.

Expect mud bogs, Tuff Truck racing, SxS racing, burnouts, and a Pro-Judged Show-N-Shine competition. Families can ride in a real monster truck for just $15, and the Kiddie Karts competition lets young gearheads trick out their own carts and compete for prizes. Saturday night wraps up with a spectacular fireworks show at dusk. This event has something for every age — and it's loud, muddy, and totally worth it.

DANVILLE

Sts. Cyril and Methodius Summer Festival | July 11

Danville's beloved parish festival is a summer staple that the whole community looks forward to. Expect classic festival fun — food, games, live entertainment, and the kind of relaxed community atmosphere that makes small-town Pennsylvania so special. It's the perfect low-key Saturday outing for families who want good food and good vibes without a packed schedule.

Berries FEST at Old Forge Brewing Co. | July 3rd

Ease into the holiday weekend with a little something for the grown-ups and a fun outdoor setting the kids will enjoy too. Old Forge Brewing Company hosts Berries FEST on Friday, July 3rd starting at 6 p.m., featuring live music by the Peaceful Outlaws. Grab a seasonal brew and settle in for a relaxed pre-Fourth evening right in Danville.

BERWICK

Berwick Community 4th of July Fireworks | July 4th

Berwick knows how to celebrate Independence Day. The annual fireworks show at Crispin Field on S. Eaton Street is presented by the Berwick Christmas Boulevard and lights up the sky right on the Fourth (rain date July 5th). Food trucks are on-site from 5 p.m. to dusk, and the Catawissa Military Band performs a special set at 8 p.m. before the big show. It's a full evening out — no need to go anywhere else.

World War II Weekend at Test Track Park | July 17–19 ⭐ Don't Miss This One

This is one of the most unique free events in all of Central Pennsylvania, and it only happens once a year. The Stuart Tank Memorial Association hosts the annual WWII Weekend at Berwick's historic Test Track — the very track where Stuart Tanks were tested before being shipped off to war during WWII.

What can families expect? Over 300 reenactors representing American, German, British, French, Italian, and Polish forces. Full military encampments you can walk through. Live weapons demonstrations featuring the M1 Garand, Colt 45 automatics, and machine guns. Actual Stuart Tanks — and this year, a rare MP5 variant visiting from Massachusetts. Battle scenarios, convoy routes, military vehicle rides, food vendors, historical exhibits, and veteran tributes.

Saturday evening features a 1940s-style swing dance at the West Side Ballroom in Berwick from 6–9 p.m. — free and open to the public. Come in period attire if you're feeling it.

This event is completely free and open to the public. Proceeds support the Stuart Tank Memorial Association and their mission to preserve this remarkable local history.
